| Supervisor Responsibilities
Your supervisor will assist you throughout the claims process and will do the following:
-
Assist you in reporting your claim through the OptaComp triage/intake number (888-763-1450).
-
Investigate the accident site and/or working conditions to determine if there are safety concerns that need to be addressed. Make sure you communicate any potential safety issues to your supervisor immediately. Your supervisor will complete the Supervisor's Accident Investigation Report.
-
Notify you of modified/transitional duty availability based on clinician limitations. If modified/transitional duty is not available within your department or business center your supervisor will notify the nurse case manager and other alternatives will be explored.
-
Contact you to discuss your recovery and keep you informed about what is going on at work. If you are out of work it is important that you know what is going on in the workplace so that upon your return you will have a smooth transition.
-
Keep all medical information about your injury or illness confidential. Although HIPAA does not apply to workers’ compensation, the confidentiality of your information is just as important. Information regarding your diagnosis, treatment plan and other confidential medical information will not be shared with anyone. Work restrictions, duration of modified/transitional duty and other work-related information may be shared with your supervisor and/or TPM/Human Resources Representative.
