Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI)

MMI marks the point after which the clinician cannot reasonably anticipate further recovery or improvement from your injury. Only the authorized clinician can determine when you have reached MMI. Once the clinician makes this determination, he/she will notify the nurse case manager of the date of MMI, any permanent restrictions resulting from the injury and the impairment rating, if any. If an impairment rating is assigned, you will be entitled to Impairment Benefits (IB). Your adjuster can explain how the IB amount is calculated. Once you reach MMI you will be responsible for a $10 co-payment for any additional medical care you receive.
