reward and recognition programs

On-the Spot Award -     (program guidelines)                      (on-sthe-spot request form)
                                                   (gift card reimbursement form)

This program was developed in 2006 to recognize individual and team efforts and to encourage and empower employees to use their talents to the fullest.  This award should not be awarded indiscriminately; therefore, use will be restricted to no more than 25% of the staff.  As the saying goes, "If you recognize everyone, you recognize no one."

All full and part-time employees in non-bargaining and bargaining (ATU/Teamsters) classifications who have passed their initial probationary period or have 6 months of service for at-will status, are eligible.  Individual employees are eligible and team awards are strongly encouraged.  Please refer to the guidelines for more detailed information. Executive Director/Chief Officer level positions not eligible for this award.

Employee Referral Bonus -    (employee referral bonus guidelines)
                                                                    (
employee referral bonus application form)

This new incentive program was introduced in 2006.  This bonus applies specifically to hard-to-fill positions.   TPM works with the business centers to identify these type of positions.

All full and part-time employees in non-bargaining and bargaining (ATU/Teamsters) classifications who have passed their initial probationary period or have 6 months of service for at-will status, are eligible. County employees who refer an external candidate for employment are eligible for a bonus of up to $1,000, if that candidate is hired.  This is a lump sum bonus, payable in two installments (upon hire date and sucessful completion of a 6-month period). The referring employee must submit the bonus application form (above) with a copy of the application/resume.  The application form must be approved by the hiring manager.  HR will review and confirm the referral.
