 President's Council on Physical Fitness & Sports- this site explains about the Council and its work, contains various publications, and links to the resources of other government agencies as well as to health and fitness organizations.

 Eat 5 to 9 A Day- The 5 to 9 A Day for Better Health Program is a national initiative to increase consumption of fruits and vegetables by all Americans to 5 to 9 servings a day. Eating 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day will promote good health and reduce the risk of many cancers, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and other chronic diseases.  HeartMath- According to HeartMath the results of research studies done at the Institute of HeartMath show that using HeartMath techniques can lead to achieving physiological coherence, a state that manifests as more ordered and efficient function in the nervous, cardiovascular, hormonal and immune systems.  American Heart Association- AHA strives to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular
diseases and stroke. This site has a section entitled "Healthy Lifestyle" that provides information
on diet and nutrition, cholesterol, exercise and fitness, and smoking. In addition, it offers several "Health Tools" that include a learn and live quiz, risk assessment, treatment decision help, family tree history, heart healthy tracker, exercise diary and patient information sheets.

 National Heart, Blood & Lung Institute- NHBLI provides leadership for a national program in
diseases of the heart, blood vessels, lung, and blood; blood resources; and sleep disorders. This

 American Lung Association- The mission of the ALA is to prevent lung disease and promote lung
health. The ALA fights lung disease in all its forms, with special emphasis on asthma, tobacco control and environmental health. For people who smoke, they offer the Freedom From Smoking® program, considered the "gold standard" of group-setting, peer-support smoking cessation programs. This is a free online smoking cessation program.
